Fostering Global Understanding

Our department prepares students to be engaged global citizens, ready to work effectively in a multicultural and multilingual world.

Why Modern Languages & Literatures at Lehigh?

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures offers courses in eight modern languages — Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Modern Hebrew, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Studying a foreign language helps you develop new marketable language skills, develop insight into your own language and culture, and actively participate in an interconnected global community.

Faculty and students in the department are also active in the Asian Studies, Film and Documentary Studies, Global Studies, and Latin American and Latino Studies programs

There are currently no upcoming or in-progress events. Check back later for more Modern Languages & Literatures Events or view past events.
