Application for Merit-Based Study Abroad Travel Grant
Applications for Undergraduate Research Grant
The College of Arts and Sciences offers funding to encourage students to engage in independent inquiry, artistic creation, and scholarship, under faculty supervision. These grants are intended to enhance opportunities for undergraduate research in the college. Funds for this award are generally used for research materials, lab materials, travel costs associated with data collection, other expenses related to research or experiential learning such as fellowship stipends for summer research. Grants will normally fall into a range from $500 to $5,000.
These grants are designed to increase undergraduate research and creative inquiry in our college. Students in the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics are encouraged to apply.
The fellowships are awarded to graduating seniors, college graduates, graduate students and young/mid-career professionals who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States, who are already at or near an advanced level in the language and ready to advance to professional fluency. The grants are highly competitive; we anticipate awarding grants to around 5% of applicants.

Don't just take our word for it! This is what Lehigh Students are saying about their study-abroad expereinces:
Kimberly Meija (Madrid, Spain) Spring 2018
"I had a wonderful time abroad in Spain. It was a great opportunity to learn about myself and a different facet of my culture. I enjoyed meeting new people and learning about the history of the country. Without the travel grant, my experience wouldn't have been possible. Studying abroad can be expensive, so receiving the grant definitely helped offset some of the costs associated with the experience. I'm very grateful to the Modern Languages and Literatures Department for helping me make my dream of traveling come true."
Delaney McCaffrey (Capetown, South Africa and Berlin, Germany) Spring 2018
"I spent my semester abroad in Cape Town, South Africa for six weeks, and Berlin, Germany for 12 weeks through the CIEE Open Campus program. I had the most amazing time while I was abroad! I got to travel to 11 new countries across two continents, and I had so many great opportunities to learn through cultural immersion. The MLL travel grant was essential in helping me to afford these experiences."
Kiana Nieves (Alicante, Spain) Spring 2018
"It was the most amazing thing that I have ever done. I was able to immerse myself in the culture by living with a Spanish family and I traveled on the weekends to many different countries. I traveled through Spain and learned about the history and even visited one of the Seven Wonders of the World!
I was able to use it to pay for my program fees, which included a trip to Grenada, where Queen Isabel and King Fernando are buried (They funded Christopher Columbus to sail the ocean blue!)."
